What Happens When the Balloon Pops
The event where the balloon pops is the definitive algorithmic termination point of a single game round. In SmartSoft's engine, the exact moment the balloon pops is calculated independently before the inflation begins, using a certified random number generator (RNG) or a cryptographic hash function.
This is the single most important technical fact for a new player: the burst point already exists in the server's hash before you press the pump button. Nothing you do during inflation, whether it is holding speed, tapping rhythm or bet size, can shift it.
When the burst occurs, the multiplier counter freezes instantly, and any active wager that has not been secured via cash-out is lost. Instant busts, where the balloon pops at effectively 1.00x, are a normal structural feature of every crash engine rather than a malfunction.
In other words, in a crash-style format such as Balloon you should budget for a meaningful share of rounds that end almost immediately. Depending on operator configuration and build, industry tracking data for comparable titles points to a band of roughly 1% to 5.5% of rounds terminating at the very first tick. Understanding that the burst point is predetermined and statistically independent prevents a familiar psychological trap: the belief that a run of long, calm rounds owes you another one.
